Project Ideas to Get You Started
Teachers, librarians and students around the world will participate in the Give a Shout Out to Your Community global project. The goal is to connect you with diverse communities across the globe. All of the projects will be compiled into an eBook to give you lots of great lesson and activity ideas you can use with your own class.
A great place to start your project is with a Cantata Learning book and song about people, animals or places in different communities. Books like People Who Help At School, Home on the Range or the Australian folk tale, Kookaburra will introduce students to what community means and all the different types of communities that exist.

Free books & songs for your project!
Now through November 30, 2016 enjoy FREE access to a selection of Cantata Learning eBooks through Capstone Interactive. Use any of these books in your Give a Shout to Your Community lessons and activities. You’ll also have free access to PebbleGo, a great digital resource for students to research people, places, animals, and much more.
Cantata Learning songs are always free to stream or download from our web site.

We’ve compiled a lot of resources and ideas into a Give a Shout Out to Your Community Smore and a Symbaloo. You can also take a look at projects that were submitted as part of our Winter Harmony Project. There are many ideas that incorporate both Winter and community.
Here’s an example of a project that our friends at Buncee created to show how students can help out in their classrooms. Look at the Buncee.
We’ve also put together three project ideas that you can use to get your creative juices flowing. Use them as-is or add your own ideas and creativity. Look at the project details.
