This bilingual nonfiction picture book uses music to teach young learners about fire trucks and the people who work with them. Inclusive digital illustrations show firefighters of all ethnicities and genders rushing to a fire with sirens blaring (Wee-oo! / ¡Niinoo!) and working as a team to extinguish the flames and save people’s lives. The text is printed in English on the left-hand page, with the Spanish appearing on the right, generally retaining the intended song’s rhythm and rhyme. A QR code allows users to download or stream the song, both with and without words, while sheet music and lyrics are appended. Educators, parents, and caregivers receive support from the book’s “Tips to support literacy at home,” which features five helpful examples for leading a storytime and keeping listeners’ attention.
